Remembered foods

Every food you log is remembered, with the serving and numbers you last logged it with. The next time you have it, NoshChat starts from your numbers rather than a fresh estimate, so your “oatmeal” stays your 150 kcal bowl.

The Foods page, listing remembered foods with their numbers

Foods lists everything remembered, most recent first: each food’s name and serving, then its calories, protein (P), carbs (C), fat (F) and fiber. The bin removes one. Remove one and it’s forgotten. Nothing is added here: a food is learnt by logging it.

  • In the chat. When a message names a food you’ve logged before, the chat uses your numbers for it, scaled to the serving you said.
  • When you ask what to eat. If your cupboard can’t make a meal, the suggestion turns to the foods you eat most before suggesting something new.
  • On the Add food form. They appear as chips. Type to narrow them, and tap one to fill in the form.

  • The last one logged wins. If you correct an entry, the corrected numbers are what’s remembered.
  • One per food. “Nopal” and “nopales”, or “Berry” and “berries”, are the same food. “Eggs” and “scrambled eggs” are not.
  • Up to 200 foods. Past that, the one you logged longest ago is forgotten.

You can’t edit a remembered food directly yet. Correct an entry of it, and that becomes what’s remembered.
